Dr. Carlos Alberto Silva is an assistant professor of quantitative forest science at the University of Florida IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences at the University of Florida. He directs the Silva Lab of forest biometrics and remote sensing. He is interested in using artificial intelligence to understand how forest ecosystems change over time due to natural and anthropogenic disturbances and their impact on the carbon cycle.
