Dr. Jiri Hulcr is the professor of forest entomology at the University of Florida IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences. He studies the diversity and ecology of ambrosia beetle/fungal relationships and how this symbiosis impacts trees, forests, and people. In the last couple of years his research has focuses on identifying potential invasive woodborer pests before they arrive to the US (pre-invasion assessment). He also provides diagnostics services and workshops on Bark and Ambrosia Beetle Identification.
